5 Ways to Promote Wellness in Your Workplace

A buildup of stress can not only affect your work performance, but can also lead to numerous health conditions, including depression, hypertension and diabetes, to name a few.

Whether you’re an employee or HR professional, there are a number of benefits to introducing wellness programs and activities at your workplace.  

With fall offering a great opportunity to reset and start a new, here are a few simple ways you can help improve health and wellness in your workplace.

1. Encourage Healthy Eating in the Workplace

Stress affects everyone differently, but for many of us, it manifests in bad eating. Reaching for comfort food or the fastest meal option can work against your health as these foods often contain high levels of fat, sodium and sugar.

Instead of grabbing quick and easy meals, or eating as an afterthought, work as a team within your workplace to encourage healthy eating. Have a potluck of healthy foods during busy periods, or simply make it a challenge to see who can consistently bring a healthy lunch every day. 3. Get Everyone Learning

Many people engage in bad habits simply because they have no idea that what they are doing is harmful to their health!

Help increase the health-related knowledge of your team by holding information sessions or hosting on-site health screenings, or treatments in the workplace for things like cholesterol level, flu shots and even massage therapy.
